So close to everything! This is a 1-mile radius around the house, close to The Square, close to campus, close so many good spots to eat. Scroll down to see our recommendations while you are in town.

Here are some of our recommendations!

Pizza: This is a no-brainer for us, we think Fergndans is not just the best pizza in Oxford, we think maybe in the entire South. I’ve known John (owner) for 5+ years and his philosophy is very simple–he spends what it takes to get the very best ingredients possible. And you can taste it in every bite. It’s about a 10 minute drive from the house, located at 176 HWY 30. If you are on the Square, don’t underestimate Proud Larry’s as a great pizza place. Primarily “pub food” type menu but really good pizza. If you want something quick, Marco’s is a short 5 minute walk from the house.

Italian: Lenora’s on the Square. It’s both Italian and fine dining. Tarasque Cucina is amazing, but check the hours. Highly recommend their catering if you are hosting friends at the house. Finally, but by no means any less good than the others, Saint Leo.

Burgers: You are walking distance from the best burger in town at Phillip’s Grocery. If you are visiting the Square, Oxford Burger Co. is a solid choice. Good Day Cafe and Handy Andy make the list!

Sandwich: Our favorite place on The Square is Blind Pig. Really amazing lineup of great sandwiches, great vibe, shoot some pool and watch all of the games. About a half mile from The Square on University you’ll find Oby’s which is also fantastic.

Thai: Our go-to is Rice-n-Spice but also solidly recommend Zaap Thai.

Fine Dining: Oxford is home to many great chefs, and in the James Beard-level spots, you’ll find City Grocery, Boure, and Snackbar. Lenora’s and Oxford Steakhouse are also solid choices.

Bakery/breakfast: Bottletree on The Square is truly a must-go. As previously mentioned, John Currence’s empire includes Big Bad Breakfast on North Lamar–expect a wait!

Mediterranean: Volta. That is it, just Volta.

Mexican: There are dozens around town, but if you want something on the more authentic, unique side, visit Uno Mas on The Square.

Two other favorites of ours are Tallahatchie Gourmet and SoLa.

Outdoor seating: The Sipp, Proud Larry’s, Volta, Harrisons and Booth’s.
